Blog 3 - Religion

Hello everyone! Hope you´re good. Todays topic is religion.

I’m not a religious person. If I had to define my position, I would be closer to agnoticism.
I studied all my primary and secondary education in a catholic school. The first years I was closer to catholic religion, but as I grew older I began to question the doctrines and everything related to religion. That is why I refused to receive the sacraments, despite the pressure exerted on me by some teachers and directors to receive them. Although I had religious differences with my classmates and teachers, that did not prevent me from participating in religious activities that were of great help to the community. That helped me understand a little better the faith and respect for the beliefs of other people, because we all had a common goal despite our differences.
I think that as human beings having something to hold on to in good times and especially in bad times is very important, be it God, faith, the universe, or whatever you want to call those forces that we cannot see but sometimes we can feel.
To finish, I will leave you one of the sentences that marked me the most in school, and that I try to practice daily. It is a sentence and teaching of Mother Paulina: "Let love be the motive for your actions"

Blog 2. Health care system

Hi everyone!

In this blog I will talk a little bit about the Chilean health care system. So let’s get angry together.

In Chile we have two health care systems: the public system and the private system.

In the public system you go to the hospitals or other public establishments like SAPU, SAR and SAMU. Like other public institutions, they have a low budget, which means,  little staff, low salaries, low capacity and a lot of problems for workers and users. The public system doesn´t only have budget issues, it also has organizatonial problems and the waiting lists are a real problem for users who need treatment, surgery, trasplants, etc. In addition to all of the above, we have deficient authorities in the management of the public health problem.

The problem with the private system is the cost. The prices are ridiculously high, only a few people can pay for it, and the people who cannot pay for it goes to the public system or gets indebts for a lot of money.

The problem with the health system in Chile is serious, the last news we heard from the authorities is a reduction of the budget. Incredible!
